Dear Caring Friends,
This is Baby Love. You knew me as Petey. Maybe I was 2 on my birthday. My story was not good when a dog attacked me, hurt me, and I had a dislocated hip. Someone brought me to a shelter. I looked like impossible to adopt with a big need of an operation after arriving and not getting the right help soon enough. My days were numbered unless I could get adopted. I had to have a piece of bone cut off to get my leg back in place. Dee and Heidi took part in my rescue and care. Dr. Patterson worked on the surgery. Heidi worked with my leg toward bringing it back into use. My new mommie, waiting for me, worked on my leg after I got my new home. I would hold it up and carry it. Though it looked like it might not work, I got to using my leg and few steps became lots of steps, no need for mommie to count them anymore. I run fast on four legs and do not look like any bad thing had happened to me before.
I like to get on top of my daddy when he lays down on a sofa. I have a queen size bed with mommie and daddy at night. They play tug with me. I like my stuffed animal toys. I shake Mousie, growl, and swing him by his tail. Mommie takes a lot of pictures of me. One looks like I'm having a meeting with my little animal friends gathered before me. I get lots of love and attention. Mommie and Daddy think I'm very special! They take me places and we even go camping. A special word I learned is "biscuit" and you can see why it gets my attention. I got some nice new coats and Mommie took my picture in them. Dee got doggie kisses when she came to visit. If I could talk like you do, I could say thank you to everyone that helped me and gave me a chance to have a new life. More pictures may come.
Love, Baby Love "Petey" Deaton
