Dear Madeline,
Just an update on Sam who has been with us since September. He is well, happy, sprightly and has been well adjusted to his new home, to us and to our way of life since the first moment we brought him home.
Besides Sam his is also known as Baby, Sweetie, Poochie and Baby-dog. He responds instantly when called - anything.
Sam has his own veterinarian, Dr. Morein of VCA Lakewood Animal Hospital, his own groomer recommended by Dr. Morein and he actually likes to go there, his own baby-sitter (he is never left alone) and his own therapist who for $85 informed us that he was too old to change his ways so if we didn't want him to eat books we should coat them with a bitter substance! Our lower bookshelves now have clear plastic shields.
Same goes with us to parties where he is very popular and never gets fed anything on the pain of death. Thus he has kept to his diet and still weighs in the neighborhood of twelve pounds.
He has a girlfriend, a Brittany named Summer, also seven who lives in Carmel. We have been houseguests there and Summer with her folks has been our guest. Bothy puppies get along well but it is very clear that Sam wants to be an 'only'.
He likes tummy rubs, walks and riding in the car - in that order. He has a special bed downstairs but prefers the velvet sofa (see photo) either on it or underneath, and anywhere on the white carpet anywhere in the house. Upstairs he has two beds but often prefers the master bed. Of course. Our other two poodles slept on our bed.
We invite you to come and visit our happy little family if ever you are in our vicinity.
Bests -
Henry & Miriam
