Dear Madeline,

How can we ever thank you for steering us to Patty Stabler and our new dog, Calie? What a wonderful dog Calie is - she fits into our family so well and we are so happy with her. It was very difficult for us to take her from her loving family. They obviously didn't want to give her up, and we hated to take her away from where she was so well loved and cared for. But they knew they could no longer give her what she needed, and we thank them daily for letting us have her.
Calie seems to be very happy with us. She has not had any episodes of crying at all. She appears to be quite content with us, and she is especially fond of my husband (and he of her - he secretly tells her she is the smartest dog we've ever had!) After about a week, she bonded well with our black standard, Cinders. They sleep together and even curl up on the same bed occasionally. We had been fearful that Cinders, who is eleven, would not be able to tolerate the antics of a younger dog, but these two romp and play and have a wonderful time together, and they both seem to love it. We take lots of walks and Calie seems to enjoy them, but she really prefers rides in the car.
We did want her to become accustomed to us, so we did not leave her at all for the first two weeks, but now we have been able to go out for part of a day and the two girls seem to be just fine together. She has been with us for three weeks (and two hours!) today, and we truly don't know what we would do without her. She is such a loving dog, so well behaved and a pleasure to have as part of our family. We thank you again for allowing us to find such a wonderful dog, and we promise that we will always care for her in the very best way we can, and we will try to provide her with a long and happy life.
Sincerely,
Kay and Paul Nibarger
